What should
I expect from a Naturopathic Visit? Because naturopathic medicine focuses on
addressing the whole person using individualized care, each visit and care protocol is tailored to your specific needs. Your
first visit includes an in depth assessment including a complete medical history, an iridology analysis and physical
assessment. Further laboratory assessments may be ordered depending on your presenting condition and if you so choose. Expect
to spend about 1 hour at the office for your first visit. Follow up visits are typically 30 minutes or so in length and
is a time for your naturopath to discuss findings from your first visit and potential therapy options as well as assess
progression and fine tune your therapy.
Can I visit a traditional
doctor of naturopathy (N.D) like I would a medical doctor (M.D.)? Yes, a naturopath can handle most
primary healthcare needs. Exceptions are gynecological medicine, emergency medicine, surgical medicine, etc. In those
cases, we assess the best we can and refer you to practitioners and/or facilities that we endorse in the area. Naturopaths
are happy to work hand in hand with other practitioners to ensure your optimal health.
Will you accept my insurance?
No. We are not required to accept insurance as naturopathic services are not covered. However, the office visit fee(s)
are nominal and about what one would pay in using their co-pay each visit to a facility where insurance panels are used.
Where does a naturopath
send someone to fill prescriptions? Because a traditional naturopath does not prescribe prescription drugs, you do
not have to fill an order at your local pharmacy. The staple of naturopathy is to veer far away from chemically induced, toxic,
side-effect bearing drugs as a source for health care. Therefore, naturopathic protocol does not include or advocate the use
of such drugs. We already have just about anything you may need here at the office, so you can walk out with your alternatives,
supplements, herbs, vitamins, therapies, etc. after your visit. This is great because it eliminates the need to drive elsewhere
and spend more time waiting and probably more money in the long run. In the event we need to send you elsewhere to get a particular
natural medicine, you will leave the office with the specifics in hand to find at the drug store or natural foods store.
The Specifics...
What is Naturopathy?
" Naturopathy: a distinct system
of non-invasive healthcare and health assessment in which neither surgery nor drugs are used, dependence being placed only
on education, counseling, naturopathic modalities and natural substances, including without limitation, the use of foods,
food extracts, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, digestive aids, botanical substances, topical natural substances, homeopathic
preparations, air, water, heat, cold, sound, light, the physical modalities of magnetic therapy, naturopathic non-manipulative
bodywork and exercise to help stimulate and maintain the individual's intrinsic self-healing processes."

Our Mission...
- Promote only natural non-invasive (no needles!) therapies, as God, through nature, has
provided safe and natural remedies.
- Encourage a lifestyle that will enhance homeostasis and total wellness from the head down.
- View the individual as a whole person consisting of mind, body and spirit.
- Teach prevention, by promoting a healthy lifestyle that includes proper nutrition, rest,
exercise, etc. while exploring those negative factors in one's life that can prevent natural health from being achieved.
